Thangalaan (transl. Child of Gold) is a 2024 Indian Tamil-language activity experience film[a] coordinated by Dad. Ranjith, who co-composed the content with Tamil Prabha and Azhagiya Periyavan. It is created by K. E. Gnanavel Raja under Studio Green and Neelam Creations. The film stars Vikram in five jobs close by Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Mohanan, Daniel Caltagirone, Pasupathy, Hari Krishnan, Arjun Anbudan,Krish Hassan,and Preeti Karan. Set during the English Raj time, a savage ancestral pioneer embarks to stop a clear sorceress, in the wake of procuring her fury while helping an English general in following gold in their town.
The film was formally reported in December 2021 under the provisional title Chiyaan 61, as it is Vikram's 61st film as a lead entertainer, and the authority title was declared in October 2022. Head photography initiated that very month. It was shot irregularly in a few legs, and wrapped by early-July 2023. Shooting areas included Chennai, Andhra Pradesh, Madurai and Karnataka. The film has music created by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography took care of by A. Kishor Kumar and altering by Selva RK.
Thangalaan was delivered overall on 15 August 2024 in norm, 3D and EPIQ designs, matching with India's Autonomy Day. The film got basic recognition from pundits, who lauded the lead cast's exhibitions (particularly Vikram, Malavika Mohanan, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Daniel Caltagirone), GV Prakash Kumar's experience score and the screenplay, however scrutinized VFX and composing.
